Malbec -- that wonderfully dark grape with the distinct plum aroma which adds its splendor as a component of red Bordeaux. It is also an increasingly popular Argentine varietal; this is where the Maipe Malbec comes from.
Where does the name "Maipe" originate? Maipe was the Lord of the Winds for the ancient Andean people (the wine is produced in the foothills of the Andes Mountains). Naming this wine after Maipe attests to the importance of the land, the soil, and the climate in the cultivation.
Maipe Malbec has the characteristically deep purple color with violet tints along with aromas of plums, figs, and floral notes. Tannins are full and prominent, but this Argentine variety tends to be softer than wines made with Malbec from other regions.
Maipe is perfected when paired with game, roasted red meats or pasta; visit our
