Dear Wine Lover:
This month we are featuring the best of Argentine wines. Granted, the wines of this region have received more respect for their value than their top-shelf quality over the last decade, but that's all changing now. By choosing high quality, low yielding vines over higher yielding-yet-mediocre varieties, several winemakers have been working hard to prove that Argentine wines can be more than just pleasing; they can be memorable.
Maipe Chardonnay 2007 is up first. Previously we featured a Malbec from the same estate, and this Chardonnay promises to be just as superb. Read more in the first article.
Speaking of Malbec, the La Posta Malbec Pizzella Vineyard 2006 is assuredly delightful in both its elegant aromas as well as its versatile nature. Take a look at our second article for all you need to know.
Our final wine for the month comes from the Bressia vineyards in the Mendoza province. Walter Bressia has been making wines for 20 years and is renowned in Argentina for his intense and passionate creations. Read about his Monteagrelo in the last article.
