January 2008

Dear Food Lover,

The winter season is always considered a "slow period" for seafood, but, thankfully, doesn't mean that it's completely removed from the table. Instead, we can look forward to fish and shellfish flown in from other regions for a pleasant change of pace.

Our big feature is the Chilean sea bass, or "Patagonian tooth fish" as it is also termed. The sea bass is definitely one of our more popular items, so much so that it will appear in our first issue of "Balducci's Top 100." Read more in the first article.

Although the season for wild halibut has ended for the year, farm-raised halibut is available from New Brunswick, Canada. It's flown in fresh and shipped straight to our stores. Read more about halibut in our second article.

If you didn't get a chance to try our king crab legs, you still have time! They'll be available through the winter. Take a look at our last article to get more information before you stop in the store.

Just because the winter has set in doesn't mean you have to settle for old, frozen fish, or even doing without it! We will always have fresh and exciting options for seafood. Check back with us often to find out what new items we have in store for you.

Best,

George Hall
