Produce -- February 2008
Dear Food Lover:
As we head towards the end of the winter, we've put together a selection of produce items that add a refreshing flavor to the heaviness of the cold season.
In the coldest part of the year, it's nice to have a reminder of warmer days. That's what's so great about
Balducci's Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice. Made from the sweetest, ripest Florida oranges around, our juice will help you get through the doldrums of winter. Read on in the
first article.
Would an onion by any other name taste just as bitter? Not if it's an
OSO Sweet Onion. Grown in the Andes Mountains, these onions are the focus of our
second article.
Do you know where
grapefruit got its name? The large citrus fruits grow in clusters like grapes, and were named after the latter fruit in 1814. Learn more about the grapefruit in our
third article.
We'll see you in March with a new gathering of produce from our shelves.
