Lamb is a traditional choice for your spring holiday dinners. The
tender, mellow cuts of meat have an earthiness similar to other dark meats and can be seasoned in a variety of ways -- from lemon, garlic and olive oil, to curry and cumin. So when you're choosing the lamb that will be the main course, shouldn't it be the meatiest, most appealingly delicious cut you can find?
At Balducci's, we proudly sell American lamb. Not only do American cuts of lamb
have more meat, but they also have a better flavor (mild, not gamey) than their foreign counterparts. That's because American lamb is bred for food and flavor only, while foreign lamb is used for both meat and wool.
For a large family dinner, I recommend the traditional leg of lamb, or the sumptuous rack. For help with preparation and serving, ask one of our knowledgeable associates in the meat department for tips and ideas.
