A Brief History of the Founder
Martin Mayorga, the youngest of four children, was born in Guatemala and grew up in Managua, Nicaragua. At an early age, Martin witnessed the strenuous efforts necessary to plant, cultivate, and sort high-grade shade grown specialty coffees. In 1997, Martin joined with Matt Brown, who was also trained in the fine art and science of small batch roasting. Together, they roast some of the finest blends and origin coffees available.

Mayorga's Varieties Available In-Store:
· Kenya AA-this is the highest grade of Kenya coffee available on the market. It is incredibly balanced and rich with a fruity finish. This is arguably one of the best varietals we sell!

· Nicaragua La Bastilla nestled in the precipitous region of northern Nicaragua, Matagalpa yields more top grade, "Strictly High Grown" (SHG) beans than in any other part of the country. The highly fertile, rich volcanic soil, in conjunction with "wet" processing, results in a pleasant, lucid coffee with a mild, nutty spiciness. This is a great "all around" varietal that can be enjoyed by those who prefer milder coffees, as well as those that like richer, more full-bodied varietals.

· Organic French Roast-this bold, dark coffee has a wonderful smokiness resulting from our slow roasting process. This process draws out the rich oils from deep within our beans. This coffee has a wonderful confluence of smokiness and liqueur in the cup.

· Mocha Java Blend-the fruitiness of the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, complemented with the rich earthiness of the Sumatra Mandheling, is one of the oldest known blends in the coffee world. This exotic blend offers a rich, deep flavor with hints of berries on the finish.

· Sumatra Mandheling-Mandheling is the west coast district in which this Sumatran coffee is produced. Many consider the Mandheling coffees to be among the world's finest and most admired. This coffee is quite possibly the most full-bodied varietal on the market. Mellow in acidity, it is bold and almost syrupy, with an unmistakable earthiness.
