One of the first things you notice when you first pick up a bag of Dallis coffee is how understated the design is. Against the black background you have a headline, a photo, and a description-a journalistic endeavor first comes to mind. But this design makes you understand how important coffee is to the Dallis family of Queens, NY who have been buying and selling coffee since 1913 and grew up alongside of Balducci's.

At long last, Dallis has made it to Balducci's shelves. What we respect most about Dallis is they roast in small batches. Small batch roasting means they roast to the specific beans-letting each batch reach its perfect roast, not simply relying on some pre-set roasting time charts.

Take a look at what we'll have available:
· 5 Borough Dark Roast-a fair trade, full-bodied, full-city roast. 5 Borough is also organic-certified, meaning that no pesticides or herbicides were used on the coffee cherries. The purest of the pure, we found this one to be toasty and intense.
· Dallis Coffee Morning Light Roast organic and fair trade, Dallis gives a lighter roast to these beans in order to keep the delicate flavors of the Grade #1 beans as well as preserve the caffeine levels (perfect for early mornings).
· Nicaraguan SHB the Matagalpa and Jinotega regions of Nicargua are home to some of Central America's most prized "strictly hard bean" (SHB) coffees. We found this coffee to have a sweet spice to it, reminding us of chocolate.
· Tanzanian Peaberry-Tanzania, East Africa is home to the "peaberry"-a coffee bean which is not fertilized and so has a round, rather than flat surface. These plump little peaberries were once prized by pan-roasters, now appreciated by specialty coffee lovers for their beauty. This coffee is nuanced and bright, with winey, lemony flavors.
· N.Y. Five Bean Espresso Dallis' renowned espresso blend uses beans from five distinctive coffee growing origins, which are the artfully roasted by hand. This blend is also delicious ground and brewed in your traditional brewer. The aroma is of berries and dark chocolate with a flavor of fruits and spices.
