Assistant Store Manager

We are looking for professionals who are interested in working as an Assistant Store Manager in our Alexandria, VA location.

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant retail experience in an upscale environment; be familiar with this market; and demonstrate excellent product knowledge and leadership skills along with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.

Primary Responsibility:
Provide effective leadership by hiring, developing, coaching and directing employee performance to achieve service, quality, safety and profitability standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Accountable for the overall operation of the store and all related aspects
• Compliance with company policies and procedures as well as compliance with all local, state, federal laws and regulations including those relating to food safety, OSHA and employment
• Promote sales and operational goals through effective product management, staffing, scheduling, training and development, and leadership

Full Time Seafood Department Supervisor

We are looking for professionals who are interested in working as a Full-Time Seafood Supervisor in our McLean, Virginia location.

The ideal applicant will have at least 3 years of relevant professional and management experience working within the Seafood departments in a food retailer and demonstrate excellent product knowledge. This candidate must have supervisory skills.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests in selecting items, including cross-selling and up-selling
• Supervise department associates. Assign and follow up on tasks and counsel associates on work related issues. Develop associates through timely, constructive and effective feedback.
• Knowledge of the Seafood business with at least 2 years of supervisory experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of controlling perishable product quality and inventory
• Knowledge of ordering and inventory systems

Full Time Cheese Department Supervisors

We are looking for professionals who are interested in working as a Full-Time Cheese Department Supervisor in either our McLean or Alexandria Virginia locations.

The ideal applicant will have at least 3 years of relevant professional and management experience working within the Cheese departments in a food retailer and demonstrate excellent product knowledge. This candidate must have supervisory skills.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests in selecting items, including cross-selling and up-selling.
• Construct creative merchandising displays including sales cases and floor displays to sell and educate customers on latest trends and our special offerings2
• Support the Department Manager ensuring proper levels of product and supplies are maintained and priced by conducting inventories as well as assist in ordering of product.
• Cutting and wrapping all cheeses, including specialty offerings.
• Supervise department associates. Assign and follow up on tasks and counsel associates on work related issues. Develop associates through timely, constructive and effective feedback.

Job Requirements
The ideal applicant will have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience working as a Butcher in a food retailer or grocery store and demonstrate excellent product knowledge. This candidate must pass a meat cutting test prior to an employment offer.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Be knowledgeable about and have the ability to cut different types of meat
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests in selecting items, including cross-selling and up-selling; providing food preparation suggestions and delivering special orders as specified
• Ensure the department is prepared to be open for business (ensuring work area is clean; documenting/removing outdated/spoiled product; restocking; preparing samples, if applicable; merchandising displays and cases)
• Accurately prepare and price product for customers (quantity, weight, size, appearance)
• Restock/merchandise displays and cases throughout the day
• Assist with receipt of product (receiving/verification, ensuring proper documentation, storage, preparation for display on sales floor)
• ServSafe certification or equivalent certification a plus

• Preparing product and cooking to specifications according to recipes using a variety of ingredients and equipment.
• Cleans and maintains work areas, equipment and utensils while ensuring all sanitation standards
