Executive Chef

We are looking for professionals who are interested in working as an Executive Chef in our Alexandria, Virginia location.

The ideal applicant will have at least 5-7 years of relevant professional culinary management experience in a food-related business, such as another food retailer, grocery store, caterer or restaurant, be familiar with this market, and demonstrate excellent product knowledge. This candidate will be prepared to work an average of 50 hours per week and must be available to work weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide effective leadership by developing, coaching and directing both front and back of house associates to properly meet service, quality, safety, profitability and other requirements.
• Promote sales and operational goals through effective product management, staffing, scheduling training and development, and leadership
• Order product and prepare recipes within budget, forecast product sales volume, and take ownership of financial results
• Conduct regular quality assurance tastings and evaluations to ensure recipe adherence, food quality and consistency in line with HACCP guidelines
• Oversee prepared foods and deli departments including fully prepared entrees and sides, hot bar, salad bar, full service deli, sandwiches, and salads.
• Generate, compile, analyze and communicate reports efficiently and effectively. Computer literacy a must.
• ServSafe qualified or equivalent certification a plus.

Full Time Seafood Department Supervisor

We are looking for professionals who are interested in working as a Full-Time Seafood Supervisor in our McLean, Virginia location.

The ideal applicant will have at least 3 years of relevant professional and management experience working within the Seafood departments in a food retailer and demonstrate excellent product knowledge. This candidate must have supervisory skills.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests in selecting items, including cross-selling and up-selling
• Supervise department associates. Assign and follow up on tasks and counsel associates on work related issues. Develop associates through timely, constructive and effective feedback.
• Knowledge of the Seafood business with at least 2 years of supervisory experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of controlling perishable product quality and inventory
• Knowledge of ordering and inventory systems
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards as required. ServeSafe training a plus.
• Ability to work for long periods of time in the cold; ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds

Assistant Store Manager

We are looking for an Assistant Store Manager for our stores located in our McLean, VA location. The ideal candidate will be a retail food management professional with a broad range of knowledge, experienced in providing great customer service, high-quality product and financial results in a clean, well-organized environment directly and through their leadership of others. Strong visual merchandising skills are essential.

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant retail experience in an upscale environment; be familiar with this market; and demonstrate excellent product knowledge and leadership skills along with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.

Primary Responsibility:
Provide effective leadership by hiring, developing, coaching and directing employee performance to achieve service, quality, safety and profitability standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Accountable for the overall operation of the store and all related aspects
• Compliance with company policies and procedures as well as compliance with all local, state, federal laws and regulations including those relating to food safety, OSHA and employment
• Promote sales and operational goals through effective product management, staffing, scheduling, training and development, and leadership
• Planning, monitoring, and executing all P&L objectives and ensure goals are met by improving operations and efficiencies to build sales, control labor, product and supply costs

We are looking for professionals who are interested in working as a Full-Time Sous Chef in our Scarsdale, NY location.

Our ideal applicant is a culinary management professional with similar experience as a Sous Chef preferably in a retail or larger-scale facility. This candidate must have supervisory skills.

Primary Responsibility:
Promote Sales and operational goals through effective product management, staffing, scheduling, training and development, and leadership

Responsibilities include:

• Support the Executive Chef in the management of the department
• Responsible for food production as well as organization and maintenance of the kitchen
• Be knowledgeable of current culinary trends and know other markets to explore
• Assist guests in selecting items, including cross-selling and up selling; providing food preparation advice to guests
• Assist in leading the team to achieve sales goals
• Utilize computer systems for ordering and receiving product, to maintain signage, as well as for inventory, purchase orders, policies and procedures
• Develop and maintain safety, sanitation and quality standards. ServSafe qualified or equivalent certification a plus
